Device Naming Best Practices
Naming conventions may vary depending on your AV setup. Use the recommendations below as a starting point.
1-to-1 Video Systems
If each EverPass Device is connected directly to a single TV, name each device based on its viewing location.
Examples:
- Left Bar
- Center Bar
- Right Bar
- Patio East
- Patio West
AV Over IP and HDBaseT Distribution
For AV over IP and HDBaseT setups, use a simple numbering convention.
Examples:
- EverPass 1
- EverPass 2
- EverPass 3
QAM Distribution
For QAM distribution, name each device based on its assigned channel.
Examples:
- Channel 50
- Channel 51
- Channel 52
- Channel 53
Hybrid AV Setups
For hybrid AV setups, use a naming convention that reflects how your system is configured. Use group names for TVs that share content and viewing locations for one-to-one connections.
Examples:
- Group 1
- Group 2
- Group 3
- Patio East
- Patio West
